About the Event

Join us in the MAG Pavilion to celebrate the Hurlbut Mural Project, starting at 10 am, with a Commencement and Reception with Guest of Honor New York State Senator Jeremy Cooney.

In collaboration with the Dogra Art Foundation, MAG has commissioned its fifth mural for the Hurlbut Gallery with South Asian artist Avinash Kumar.

The Avinash Kumar installation of the Hurlbut Mural Project is generously supported by MAG Council, Sarah M. and Robert W. Hurlbut, and Seema and Joseph Rizzo.

This event is free and open to the public.

This event does not include museum admission.

About the Artist/Speaker

Avinash Kumar, born in 1996 in Ranchi, India, is a visionary artist, painter, and muralist whose work has left an indelible mark on the artistic landscape of the country. Operating under the street name “AVI,” he has become synonymous with the awe-inspiring murals he creates. His distinctive anamorphic style is not merely a technique; it's a transformative experience that reshapes the perception of familiar environments. Avinash's paintings carve paths, spaces, and loops into the structures on which they are born, inviting the audience to embark on a visual journey through his art.
