About the Program
Delve into an artist’s creative process and discover your artistic eye and drawing skills . . . and get a free sketchbook made just for this event! Artist and MAG’s former art preparator Carol Acquilano will reveal drawings from her sketchbooks and lead the audience through drawing exercises using specially designed still lifes. “Gameboard,” Agnes Jeffrey’s ca. 1850 drawing in the exhibition, adorns the cover of the gift sketchbook. Jeffrey taught art to the young Emily Sibley, who later founded MAG.
Advance registration is required. Seats are limited.
About Carol Acquilano
Carol Acquilano held the position of art preparator at MAG for many years, serving as one of the caretakers of the museum's permanent collection. She is an accomplished and prolific artist with an extensive history of exhibitions and residencies. She notes that her imagery "derives from a continuous stream of sketching and painting that happens in the studio, in nature and in airplanes."
