8 THURSDAYS
JANUARY 18 – MARCH 14 (No class February 22) | 9:30 am – 12:30 pm
This is a class for those who always wondered about weaving and how it is done. The very first class will be an introduction to playing with yarns, colors and patterns on set-up looms. The second and continuing sessions will involve the planning, the winding of the yarn, the threading of the loom and finally the actual weaving! Students will be weaving a group of six coasters called “mug rugs” which will enable them to explore different patterns while learning the basics of weaving as each of the six pieces can be completely different. In class discussions we will talk about the various types of yarn and how they can be used successfully, but the fun part is the actual weaving.
