Especially for Educators: Cultivating Social Emotional Learning Through Art #1

This event is no longer on sale.

Wednesday October 25

Selected time (EST)

4:30 PM  –  7:00 PM

Join fellow area educators at MAG for the first of three workshops in a series! Explore the Beyond Beauty exhibition with its curator Lauren Tagliaferro, and consider how artists purposefully chose subjects and styles that go beyond traditional notions of beauty to express their vision, communicate powerful messages, and evoke a response in the viewer. This workshop will also model using Artful Thinking Routines to collaboratively respond to a work of art with an emphasis on Social Emotional Learning competencies and provide an opportunity to create art with the guidance of a Teaching Artist.

Participants will earn 2.5 CTLE credit hours upon completion of this workshop.

For questions about this event, please contact Academic Programs Coordinator Chelsea Anderson at canderson@mag.rochester.edu. Registration ends on Friday, October 20, at 4:30 pm. Registration includes museum admission.
