Today’s beauty standards are constantly changing and evolving as trends come and go, but what does this mean in terms of beauty in the art world? Beyond Beauty explores artwork from MAG’s permanent collection in which the boundaries of the viewing experience are stretched beyond the expected definitions of art and beauty. On this DeTOUR℠, we will be partnering with MAG Curator, Lauren Tagliaferro (Who Wants to be a Millionaire  and Miss Information podcast) as we examine traditional definitions of beauty and compare them to the grotesque, the uncanny, and the horrific, which can provoke unusual and sometimes unsettling experiences for the viewer. How do these works help us better understand the human condition? How do they challenge our notions of beauty standards? Join us on Thursday, November 9!
